Nainital - Tallital & Mallital
Nainital is divided into two parts - Tallital (the southern approach to the lake), and Mallital, (the northern part of the lake and its upper reaches). The bus & taxi stand, Post Office, KMVN office, Raj Bhavan, major schools and Golf Course are in Tallital. The rickshaw stand, Naina Devi Temple, Bara Bazaar, Town Hall (Municipal House), Uttarakhand High Court, Tibetan Market and several luxury, heritage and mid-range hotels are clustered in Mallital. The lake is cradled between the slopes of Ayarpatta on the west and Sher-ka-Danda to the east.
Nainital is situated in the foothills of the outer Himalayas. Also known as "The Lake District", Nainital is gifted with the splendid Naini Lake and other few lakes namely Bhimtal, Naukuchiyatal, Khurpatal, and Sattal in the closer proximity.
